venous varicosity ( RID3368 )
The mass (arrowheads) is thin walled and multiseptated, coursing lateral to the inferior epigastric vessels (thin arrow). Location suggests indirect inquinal hernia, but the multispetated appearance and tremendous flow on color doppler indicate that it is a tangle of varicosities. These round ligament varicosities enlarge on standing and with valsalva, as expected. So long as these are compressible and there is flow (no clot), these are harmless and should resolve after delivery. Just dont misdiagnose this as hernia! [ Article ]
