spondyloarthropathy ( RID3603 )
There is predominantly medial right hip joint space narrowing with small osteophytes at the margins of both hips. Both SI joints look radiographically normal. I thought I saw syndesmosphytes at the lower L Spine and found L Sp XRs from 2 years ago, She has confluent syndesmophytes throughout the mid-lower L Sp, though Gr I degenerative spondylolisthesis broke through the syndesmophytes at the L4-5 level (XR from 2010 shows syndesmophytes prior to the listhesis). Although this is not Anklylosing Spondylitis, this is considered Axial Spondyloarthropathy which may be treated by DMARDs. For this reason, I think its important to recognize and report this as such, and not call this degenerative disc disease or DISH. We seem to have missed the boat here.
