quadratus femoris muscle ( RID2637 )
There is narrowing of the quadratus femoris space (white arrows), which is the narrowest distance between the ischium and proximal hamstring tendon complex. There is compression and edema of the QF muscle, related to the impingement. In this case, I see an accessory slip of the semimembranosus at its origin (yellow arrow), coming off the anterior aspect of the lateral facet...and I think that alone is narrowing the QF space. There is no tendinosis. Have you seen this variant? [ Article ]
