distal tendon of biceps brachii ( RID2065 )
Axial MRI images show apparent signal alteration and questionable fraying with an intact insertion of the distal biceps tendon; there is trace fluid in the radiobicipetal bursa. FABS (Flexed elbow, ABducted shoulder, forearm Supinated) images show that the Long (lateral/blue arrow) head is torn and mildly retracted, while the Short (medial/red arrow) head is intact. Many previously reported delaminating partial tears were actually complete tears of one head; the short head is more commonly torn, so this is unusual.
