subungual exostosis She traumatized her hallux 2 years ago and her nail was removed at that time. Now she presents to a different podiatrist with an occasionally tender subungual mass. I dont usually make this diagnosis with ultrasound, but it seems diagnostic. Lots of gel for stand-off, see quite well deep to the nail...just as you can in scanning for glomus tumor. Have attached an excellent review of subungual lesions with MR and US correlation (oddly, no US for the subungual exostosis). [ Article ]
