osteoid osteoma ( RID4005 )
This is the CT follow up of an MRI case I recently posted in which I thought there was a double nidus, both medullary endosteal and subperiosteal. Some of you particularly clever OCADers (correctly) suggested that the periostitis could mimic the appearance of a 2nd nidus ... proven by these CT images. Clinically, as per the referring non-operative sports medicine physician, this 21 yr old male has had symptoms since he was 16, first treated with PT for a presumed flexor strain. Despite refractory symptoms he has not sought additional treatment until now. On exam he has a flexion contracture and relative atrophy of the affected limb and mild, compensatory shortening of the contralateral limb.
