posterior horn of medial meniscus ( RID2776 )
Most cases of posterior horn medial meniscal root tear already have secondary degenerative medial compartment DJD and meniscal body extrusion. The PH medial meniscal root is vascularized and repairable, but only worth repairing in the absence of DJD. This is one such case. There may be rapid development of medial compartment DJD after this sort of injury. Best to notify the referrer before the window of opportunity for repair closes.
