iliotibial band ( RID2855 )
Having previously reported a series of proximal iliotibial band injuries, all of which were in women (either sedentary and deconditioned or athletes, mostly runners), I thought this was exclusively a problem in women. Surprised to find this proximal ITB tear in this man, who is a runner. Only our Axial images extend throughout the entire hemipelvis; note that the origin of the ITB (the iliac tubercle) is excluded in the Cor plane. Honestly, I almost didnt look for this, since I didnt believe this happens in men----thats why we often only see what we know.
