spherocytosis hemolytic anemia adhesive capsulitis
I learned today that this patient has hereditary spherocytosis and hemolytic anemia, which explains the marrow changes. He has bilateral adhesive capsulitis (arrows point to capsule thickening and pericapsular edema) and right sided supraspinatus tendinosis. Clinically he has a frozen shoulder. Quite unusual to have bilateral adhesive capsulitis, and generally less common in men. Is there any association with the anemia or its treatment with adhesive capsulitis? There are associations with Dupuytrens, Diabetes and Thyroid disease, none of which he has.
