Bone Marrow Edema syndrome
The pattern of bright T2, darkish T1 signal at the ends of bone (femoral condyles, tibial plateau, fibular head) is similar to the image in the attached article. Ive not heard of this syndrome. In the discussion it sounds like transient BME (osteoporosis). I know that pre erosions can manifest at BME signal, but dont know if there is any suspicion of underlying inflammatory arthropathy. Certainly no cartilage thinning. The Cor and Sag images are Dixon sequences, so the non-fat sat is PD and not T1. The axial is a true T1 and T2 fat sat. Comments? [ Article ]
