synovial sarcoma ( RID4558 )
First 2 slides are from outside MRI, interpreted as Morton Neuroma. Latter 3 are 6 months later, last post gadolinium. I interpreted this as a nerve sheath tumor of the 2nd ray digital nerve, not a Morton Neuroma. This is a proven synovial sarcoma. Attached article indicates that majority occur in the lower extremities. Symptoms average 2-4 years, but can last for many years...which, along with small size, can give the false impression of a benign lesion. It would have served me well to have read this article. I understand the tumor was completely excised. [ Article ]
