DPN impingement is more commonly due to talonavicular osteophytes than the relatively rare os intermetatarseum. In this case, Fig1 shows severe talonavicular DJD with large dorsal osteophytes, not only impinging on the DPN (Fig 2) but contributing to EHL and Tib Anterior tendinosis due to friction. In Fig 4 there is EDB fatty atrophy due to chronic DPN impingement (AKA Anterior Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome). [ Article ]
