CPPD deposition disease ( RID3571 )
First XRs are from today; severe erosive arthropathy with destruction and disorganization of the proximal and mid carpus and asymmetric osteopenia on the left. XRs from 2013 2 mos after fall on left wrist show stage I SLAC bilaterally; and the right wrist appears stable now. MRI from 2 weeks after the XR in 2013 showed synovitis and marrow edema with widespread erosions. I am confused by the osteopenia since I presume this is marked progression of CPPD arthropathy, now with features mimicking neuroarthropathy. What do the rheumatology experts among us think?
