gluteus minimimus, medius and all hip external rotator tendons are torn
There is severe muscle atrophy with chronic tendon tearing of the G min and G med, and of all of the external rotators of the hip (piriformis, obt externus, sup/inf gemellus, quadratus femoris) with fluid collection posterior to the hip and proximal femur. The sciatic nerve (white arrow) shifts into the quadratus femoris space, but is not thick or T2 bright. There is severe multivel DDD and lumbar dextroscoliosis (not shown) and severe right hip DJD; I wonder if underlying muscle atrophy related to the scoliosis predisposed her to the multi tendon ruptures.
