The medial meniscus is intact. Instead, there is a large, full thickness tear of the posterior medial knee joint capsule. There is tearing of the posterior oblique ligament, with partial tearing of the tibial insertion of the semimembranosus, and apparently chronic partial tearing of the medial gastrocnemius tendon at the level of the knee and proximal tibia.
