anterior root of lateral meniscus ( RID2764 )
There is intrasubstance mucoid degeneration and cystic expansion of the AH and body of the LM with paramenical cyst and inflammation extending into the lateral synovial recess. There is a tiny peripheral defect of the AH, but no articular surface defect. By definition, meniscal tear requires an articular surface defect. How do you / should we report this? Its a tear, but its not a tear? Its a tear, but you wont see it at arthroscopy? It seems unnecessarily problematic.
