Discussion

There is a fracture of the ring proximal phalanx with marked PIP flexion deformity. There is grade 1 strain of the flexor tendons, but no focal tear. Slide 2 shows the intact flexor tendons and the dark signal fibrous cord tethering the flexor tendon extending to the subcutantous cord in the palm (see axial images slide 3). In slide 3 you can see a fibrous cord of Dupuytrens also in the index finger. Slide 4-5 shows relatively mild flexion contracture of the IF, with the dark T1 / dark T2 signal fibrous cord extending from the flexor tendon at the middle phalanx toward the palm.
