Discussion

By history, she had a lower leg stress fracture as a teenager, now with 6 weeks shin pain. I dont know what she does for fun. The lateral XR shows multiple transverse linear intracortical lucencies in the anterior midshaft tibia, anterior tibial striations. I recalled these were reported in ballet dancers and jumping athletes. My question is if these ever remodel and disappear. Can I know whether these are new or old? Is an MRI warranted to see if there is periosteal or endosteal edema at this time? Reference article.
