42M midfoot pain and swelling 1 week post injury.

Discussion

3.5 years ago he was imaged for a 4th MT stress fracture (1st 2 slides), found to also have peroneus longus tendinosis and tenosynovitis. Injury last week, now with P Longus rupture with proximal remnant at the hindfoot and distal remnant retracted plantar to the 3rd TMT joint. Note the fluid signal but no tendon in the cuboid peroneal groove. Referral said calcaneal fracture on outside XR (that must have been the os peroneus. Reference article.
