Discussion

Example of the usefulness of hip MR arthrography with axial traction.
Moderate undercoverage and hypertrophic labrum. Degenerative labral tear, massive chondral delamination (giant pouch), and partial high-grade tear of the ligamentum teres (>50%). Secondary hip instability with marked articular distraction on MRI arthrography with leg traction (8 kg). Arthroscopic procedure confirms MR arthrography findings.
